So, I've started juicing, thanks to my awesome friend Norm (
read about it here -
link opens a new window). What I didn't include is that when you're juicing, you have to drink a lot of water. I had no idea that drinking fruit and veggie juices would make me feel so doggone thirsty, but they do. I'm guessing it's probably because I'm using the bathroom a whole lot more than I used to.

Then there's the use of the pulp: Boy, what an eye-opener that's turning out to be!

Let's just say that while eating lots of salad is a great thing, making shakes and what-not out of the pulp of fruit just might be better. I mean, you wanna get rid of stuff that seems to cling stubbornly to your insides, well, fruit pulp seems to grab hold of it and pull it right out.

The fact that I'm having to drink more water is actually an awesome thing. As you know, keeping the water intake up has been quite a challenge. I can honestly say that since I started using the juicer, my intake has increased 100% - I'm now up to about 2L of water a day.

Another benefit I've noticed this week (I've had the juicer for a week, now) is the absence of cravings. It's true: I was juicing up some veggies, last night, and all of a sudden, the realization hit me that fruits and veggies are what I want, not junk food. I had to stop what I was doing; I was just that stunned. Instead, I'm craving more fruits and veggies - and salad. Man, I just can't get enough of that stuff...

With the current un-blocking taking place inside my body, I'm finally able to get up and get mobile without hurting. If you've ever been badly blocked up, you can appreciate the pain involved - and you can appreciate the relief when things start moving again. I know, I know - too much information.

Still, I think it's important, because I think it's something most obese people have to deal with.
Anyway, things are looking up. I'm feeling better by the day (even the whites of my eyes are starting clear up), the cravings for all the wrong foods have all but disappeared, I'm eating more responsibly... Life is good.

But hey - how about you? How are things going for you?
