More Juice

So, I've started juicing, thanks to my awesome friend Norm (read about it here - link opens a new window). What I didn't include is that when you're juicing, you have to drink a lot of water.  I had no idea that drinking fruit and veggie juices would make me feel so doggone thirsty, but they do. I'm guessing it's probably because I'm using the bathroom a whole lot more than I used to.

Then there's the use of the pulp: Boy, what an eye-opener that's turning out to be!   Let's just say that while eating lots of salad is a great thing, making shakes and what-not out of the pulp of fruit just might be better.  I mean, you wanna get rid of stuff that seems to cling stubbornly to your insides, well, fruit pulp seems to grab hold of it and pull it right out.

The fact that I'm having to drink more water is actually an awesome thing. As you know, keeping the water intake up has been quite a challenge.  I can honestly say that since I started using the juicer, my intake has increased 100% - I'm now up to about 2L of water a day.

Another benefit I've noticed this week (I've had the juicer for a week, now) is the absence of cravings.  It's true: I was juicing up some veggies, last night, and all of a sudden, the realization hit me that fruits and veggies are what I want, not junk food.  I had to stop what I was doing; I was just that stunned.  Instead, I'm craving more fruits and veggies - and salad.  Man, I just can't get enough of that stuff...

With the current un-blocking taking place inside my body, I'm finally able to get up and get mobile without hurting.  If you've ever been badly blocked up, you can appreciate the pain involved - and you can appreciate the relief when things start moving again.  I know, I know - too much information.    Still, I think it's important, because I think it's something most obese people have to deal with.

Anyway, things are looking up. I'm feeling better by the day (even the whites of my eyes are starting clear up), the cravings for all the wrong foods have all but disappeared, I'm eating more responsibly...  Life is good.

But hey - how about you?  How are things going for you?

PARTY TIME: HOLLY POOPED

Boy do I ever know what that is all about. You must feel like a million bucks!!! I think I will have to try a juicer since my current method of weight loss isn't the best way!

On a side note are you going camping this weekend?

Ya know I would love to give it a go but somehow I don't think (right now anyway) I'd really use a juicer too much. It's something to think about for the future though. I do drink quite a bit of Simply Orange brand orange juice and apple juice anyway, and those are pure juice so I would like to think that's good.

As for water intake - I try to drink at least half a gallon a day and usually do pretty good at meeting that goal (and often exceed it) but sometimes I have a hard time with it. I've found if I get a water bottle that will hold either the full amount I want to drink in a day or at least half that amount and keep it with me to sip on every few minutes I do better at it. I try to drink the majority of it before noon, too... otherwise I have to get up in the middle of the night to potty.

I suppose my best news is that I STILL actually look forward to my dance workouts and do at least four 20-30 minute sessions a week. I'm learning the routines too and you get an amazingly better workout when you know the moves and can actually do them rather than flailing around trying to figure out what's going on and keep up.

I hope you will continue and eat a variety of food so you can get everything you need. Do you take a multi vitamin pill?Nothing will work properly when you lack certain things. And yes visualization is important as motivation can disappear sometimes but remember I’m there for you and loads more to support you in your journey into a healthier you.

Oh yeah, I reached my dream goal two months ago and now I do this automatically to eat each 3rd or 4th hours with small portions. Basically instead of eating too full I’m snacking all the time with fruits, a small portion of food and even if I’m not really hungry I force myself to eat something small to maintain the blood sugar lever to more even. I’m proud of myself to be this slim, I still have a belly and some fat at my back but I’m much smaller than ever. Since I tried with permanent life style changing since 2006 I have dropped 4 sizes in my pants. But it wasn’t until last year in November that I noticed something. I got my diabetes medicine in that month and it has done wonderfully to my body. My nurse said I must doing exercise every day for 30 minutes but I have cheated as I only do 3 days in a week with heavy exercise. Consistency with right food, right portions, eating at regular hours and regular exercise has contributed to this slimmer version of me. Everyone notices it and I have no intention to gain back as it took me approximately to work out how I should live my life with diabetes type 2. Even if you cheat, try your best every day.
